Here's an APOPEX souvenir card printed "in conjunction with the visit of Pope Paul VI" with a 10s papal stamp and a 1970 Philatelic Week stamp cancelled on their respective first days of issue. On the back side is a serial number.

The 20th APOPEX (philatelic exhibition of the APO Philatelic Society) was held at the Bureau of Posts building from November 15 to 30, 1970.

In celebration of National Heritage Month, former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, Chairperson of Akademiang Pilipino, a group of notable personalities in the field of Arts, Culture and the Academe delivered the keynote address to formally open the Heritage Stamp Exhibit entitled “Mga Selyong Pamana, Imaging the Imagining Womanhood in Stamps” held at the historic lobby of the Manila Central Post Office last May 09, 2019.

A protector of Philippine sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea and known cultural heritage proponent, Morales presented the commemorative 2019 Heritage stamps featuring “Women as Heritage Keepers”.

Aside from the 2019 Heritage Stamps, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), in coordination with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Filipino Heritage Festival and Fantastic Philippines, a group of amateur and professional photographers showcased heritage stamp collections from notable philatelic collectors.

The exhibit showcases 22 frames featuring Philippine stamps depicting Filipino women. It is open to the public from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will run until May 30, 2019.

“We support the effort of the government to preserve and protect these cultural heritage featured in stamps for the appreciation of the public”. Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.

Otarra said that next year will be the start of the restoration of the Post Office building which was built before World War II. A Postal Museum shall be established as an added attraction to both local and foreign tourists.

He added that it will also serve as an academic facility for students and stamp collectors to learn and appreciate Filipino cultures and history.

PHLPost has printed 50, 000 copies of the eight (8) designs commemorative stamps designed by PHLPost In-house graphic designer Victorino Z. Serevo, sold for P12.00 each.

Stamps and Official First Day Covers are now available at the Philatelic Counter, Manila Central Post Office, Liwasang Bonifacio 1000, Manila and in all postal areas of PHLPost.

Panapex slogan

Another PANAPEX (Pan Asian Philatelic Exhibition) slogan cancel.

PANAPEX was held at Manila from November 16 to 29, 1952. It was originally scheduled only up to November 22 but got extended.

The slogan was used on mail from July 16 to August 15, 1952.

1st NATOPEX slogan

The slogan cancel promoting the 1st Natopex was used for only one day, September 1, although the National Topical Philatelic Exhibition was held from September 1 to 14, 1957.

7th APOPEX slogan

The 7th APOPEX, as promoted in this slogan cover, was held at the Manila Post Office from November 24 to December 7, 1957.

"The exhibit," reported the Philippine Journal of Philately, "drew much applause from stamp aficionados."

The slogan cancel was used for only one day, on the opening day of the show.

PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost launches Lake Stamps to celebrate 251st Postal Anniversary

Manila – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) commemorated the 251st Anniversary of the Philippine Postal Service with the launching of the 2018 National Stamp Collecting Month (NSCM) Stamps exhibit entitled “Re-Collection” featuring rare pieces of stamp by known collectors in the country.

Former Secretary and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Tesoro Go, Postmaster General Joel Otarra and Chairman of the Board Norman Fulgencio formally opened the exhibit to celebrate Philippine Philately (Stamp Collecting) in the country.

The Philippine Lakes Stamp was also launched during the event.

FUNtastic Philippines, a group of amateur and professional photographers provided the Philippine Lake photos of the following: Lake Danum (Photographer - Ramirez Duque) located in Sitio Patay; Lake Balinsasayao (Photographer – Premier Elipe) located within the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes; Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake (Photograher – Mark Albert Angelo Cruz) found near the boundaries of Pampanga and Tarlac Provinces; Gabawan Lake (Photographer – Christan Pago) located in Albay, Southeast of Manila; Lake Apo (Photographer – Premier Elipe) located in the city of Valencia in Bukidnon province; and Lake Sebu (Photographer – Len Jingco) found in Alah Valley Region, South Cotabato.

Meanwhile, the souvenir sheet will feature Kabalin-an Lake (Photographer – Simeon Recio) located in Sibulan, Negros Oriental and Lake Leonard (Photographer – Kent Ramirez Duque) located in Maco, Compostela Valley.

This year, PHLPost aims to create, maintain, and increase postal awareness that would instigate Filipinos in all ages to venture into the hobby of stamp collecting and letter writing.

PHLPost chose to launch the Philippine lakes as their design in its 2018 NSCM to proudly promote our country’s beautiful tourist spots. Graphic Artist Vic Serevo designed the Lake Stamps.

Stamps, Souvenir Sheets and official First Day Cover will be available at the Philatelic Counter in Manila and all post offices in the country.

PHLPost will also host other activities such as Cagayan De Oro Stamp Exhibit and Internal Philately Training (Nov. 13-14); PHLately Bridging Generations Forum (Nov. 17); and Museum Groundbreaking, MOA Signing, and Stamp Bazaar (Nov.23) to celebrate the 2018 NSCM.

The Philippine Philatelic Federation's First National Thematic and Youth Philatelic Exhibition was held at the Manila Central Post Office from August 9 to 14, 1993.

Theme of the exhibit was "People Empowerment Through Philately".

Incidentally, the Philippine Philatelic Federation had just been incorporated in 1993 as a nonprofit, nonstock organization.

2nd APO Philatelic Exhibit

The 2nd APO Philatelic Exhibition was held at the Manila Post Office in 1952.

"The exhibition came as a surprise to everybody who expected to see a bunch of kids putting up an amateurish exhibition," reported the Philippine Journal of Philately. "Instead, they saw college students and professionals who displayed their collections with such seriousness, artistry, and originality as to earn the distinction of presenting one of the finest junior exhibitions here in Manila."

This show was mounted by the Amateur Philatelists Organization (now known as the APO Philatelic Society).

2nd Leyte stamp exhibit

A triangular "stamp" of the Tacloban Philatelic Club's logo predates the first triangle stamps of the Philippines!

Oh well, this slogan cancel was used in Tacloban from October 1 to 21, 1951 for the 2nd Leyte Provincial Stamp Exhibition held from October 12 to 21.

Anyone knows when the 1st Leyte Provincial Stamp Exhibition was held?

Here's a Chrisquapipex cover cancelled at the postal station specially set up at the show's venue.

The Christianization Quatercentennial Philippine International Philatelic Exhibition was held at Manila from December 6 to 12, 1965.

As noted on the lower left, the Asociacion Filatelica de Filipinas was a philatelic agent for United Nations postal issues.

The AFF also printed a souvenir sheet for Chrisquapipex.

1947: NAPEX souvenir sheet

The first souvenir sheet of the Republic era was issued on November 8, 1947 for the National Philatelic Exhibition (Napex).

Napex was held at Manila from November 28-30, 1947. It was sponsored by the Philippine Philatelic Club.

To promote the value of cultural heritage and its role in shaping the Filipino identity, the Philippine Postal Corporation, in coordination with National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has mounted a Philatelic Exhibition featuring Special Stamps from notable philatelic collectors in celebration of the National Heritage Month, with the theme “Pambansang Pagkakaisa Para sa Pamana”.

The exhibit was held at the historic Manila Central Post Office building in Liwasang Bonifacio which was attended by philatelic collectors, partner government and privateagencies. Dr. Jaime C, Laya, a business leader and known cultural heritage proponent was the guest of honor and speaker.

The exhibit showcase 40 frames with a total of 620 pages featuring Philippine stamps depicting Filipino cultures, traditions and great Filipinos. The exhibit will be open to the public from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm beginning on May 21 to 28, 2018.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 439 s. 2003, the National Heritage Month (NHM) is done during the month of May of every year, in recognition of the need to create among the people a consciousness, respect, and love for the legacies of Filipino cultural history.
“We support the effort of the NCCA to preserve and protect these cultural heritage which has been featured and officially recorded in these miniature pieces of Art called “stamps” for the enjoyment of our future generations”, Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.
Among his plan this year is to open a Postal Museum at the lobby of the historic Manila Central Post Office Building which when completed will be an added attraction to the local and foreign tourists who frequently flock at the historic sites in the city of Manila. It will also be an academic facility for students and stamp collectors to learn and appreciate Filipino cultures and history.
“The walls of Intramuros and the magnificent edifice of the post office building at the heart of Manila remind us to love our past and treasure these places in the future”, Otarra added.
This year, PhlPost has issued stamps to showcase the beauty and distinctive architecture of centuries-old Spanish colonial churches in the country.

Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPOST) will organize a week-long stamp exhibit from April 23-27, 2018 in line with its 26^thcorporate anniversary at Manila Central Post Office lobby.

With the title SUGNAY (Selyong Magkaka-UGNAY Gobyernong Magkaka-agapay), PHLPOST aims to showcase its Government-related stamp releases.

“The exhibit is part of the 26^th corporate anniversary celebration. The objective is put up an exhibit of stamps for Government offices and Local Government Units (LGU),” Postmaster General Joel L. Otarra said.

The corporation invited LGU's Chief Executives of stamps issued, stamp enthusiasts, government employees, and students from nearby schools to join the event.

SUGNAY Exhibit’s difference in other stamps display is that it focuses on government-related stamps. An event that will cater stamps featuring the best of the best of different cities and provinces in the country.

'More than the commemoration of significant milestone of the place, we would like to highlight the rich and colorful history of each LGUs through the stamps' PMG Otarra added.

Included in the exhibition are stamps from Cagayan De Oro City, Caloocan City, City of Davao, City of San Pablo, Taguig City, and more.

SUGNAY’s opening will coincide Salamat Po Letter Writing Grand Draw.

Philpex 83 cover

A combination first day cover for Philatelic Week 1993 and show cover for Philpex '93, the Philippine Philatelic Exhibition held at the Manila Central Post Office from Nov. 22 to 27, 1993.

It says Philpex '93 was an exhibit of the International Philippine Philatelic Society in cooperation with the Philpost, United Nations Postal Administration, Cebu Philatelic Society, Quezon City Philatelic Society and Young Philatelists' Society.

Looks like the signature is that of Edison G. Cornejo of the YPS. There's an EGC beside the IPPS logo at left so he must have designed this show cover.
