Anyone has information about the Universal First Day Cover Exchange Club aside from the address given on this Czechoslovakian cover?

Philpex 83 cover

A combination first day cover for Philatelic Week 1993 and show cover for Philpex '93, the Philippine Philatelic Exhibition held at the Manila Central Post Office from Nov. 22 to 27, 1993.

It says Philpex '93 was an exhibit of the International Philippine Philatelic Society in cooperation with the Philpost, United Nations Postal Administration, Cebu Philatelic Society, Quezon City Philatelic Society and Young Philatelists' Society.

Looks like the signature is that of Edison G. Cornejo of the YPS. There's an EGC beside the IPPS logo at left so he must have designed this show cover.

1st Philacon FDC

Here's a first day cover for the Philacon '91 issue (an overprinted 1982 souvenir sheet).

The First National Philatelic Convention (Philacon '91) was held at the Manila Central Post Office from November 27 to 29, 1991.

Cachet at left represents the 10 participating stamp clubs: APO Philatelic Society, Filipino-Chinese Philatelic Society, Baguio Philatelic Society, General Santos City Stamp Club, Cebu Philatelic Society, International Philippine Philatelic Society, Chinese Philatelists' Club of the Philippines, Philippine Philatelic Auction Club, Clark Stamp Club, and Quezon City Philatelic Society.

APO silver anniversary

For the 1975 set of two stamps marking the 25th anniversary of the APO Philatelic Society, the first day covers were cancelled at three post offices: Manila, Iloilo City and Cebu City.

Shown here is the FDC for the 5-sentimo value cancelled at the Manila Post Office.

The APO Silverpex was held at the Manila Central Post Office from November 24 to 30, 1975.

1968 Philatelic Week FDC

Here's a different cachet for the 1968 Philatelic Week first day cover. (See November 1, 2016 post.)

Scoutpex 79

This is a first day cover for Scoutpex '79, the 1st Scout Philatelic Exhibition held at Quezon City from July 4 to 14, 1979, in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the first national jamboree held at Quezon City in 1954.

It's cancelled at U.P. Diliman Post Office,one of two cancellations (the other is Manila).

There also was an overprinted souvenir sheet for Scoutpex '79.

One of the three sponsors of this event shown on the cachet is the APO Philatelic Society.

In 1992 the Philippine Postal Museum and Philatelic Library was inaugurated.

To mark this event, the 1980 MacArthur Centenary souvenir sheet was overprinted.

Sadly this facility today no longer exists.

CPS

The Cebu Philatelic Society was organized in December 1982.

For its slogan, it has "World Understanding thru Stamp Collecting".

stamp centenary FDCs

A set of six stamps were issued in 1954 to commemorate the centenary of the Philippine postage stamp.

A modern classic, these stamps (shown here as blocks of four on first day covers) were printed by Thomas de la Rue & Co., Ltd., of London, the first Philippine stamps printed in England.

1986 Philatelic Week

Here is a 1986 Philatelic Week first day cover with a cachet on the theme of the issue.

World Stamp Expo '89

World Stamp Expo '89 was held from November 17 to December 3 at Washington, DC.

It was held in conjunction with the 20th Universal Postal Congress.

Philippines issued three stamps for this event. These stamps-on-stamps issue picture the following:

P1 -- the first stamps of the Spanish era and Revolutionary period
P4 -- the first stamps of the US administration and Commonwealth period
P5.50 -- the first stamps of the Japanese occupation and Republic era

The P1 errs in design in that the Queen Isabella II stamp is perforated!

On one FDC

For the Taipei Stamp Exhibition of 1992, two souvenir sheets of the Freshwater Aquarium Fishes I with additional inscriptions were issued.

These came out on September 12, three days after the Freshwater Aquarium Fishes I stamps and souvenir sheets were released.

The first day cover bearing both souvenir sheets is extra long!

Paintings of Filipino artists were the theme of the 1992 Philatelic Week issue.

This time I can figure out the cachet!

1991 Philatelic Week FDC

Continuing on the art theme, the 1991 Philatelic Week issue featured a three-stamp set of paintings by Filipino artists.

Leastwise, the cachet is "philatelic". Missing though is the close quote for "We are a very happy family of stamp collectors".

1990 Philatelic Week FDC

With the advent of art used for Philatelic Week, in 1990, we were given a pleasant surprise.

From hereon, the stamp designs are no longer "philatelic" so much so that the issues need to be scrutinized to determine if these are Philatelic Week (or the later National Stamp Collecting Month) issues.

Nonetheless, I still can't make out the cachet on this first day cover. Maybe an illustration of paints on a palette?

Well, this cachet could have looked better if colored like the stamp at right.

But, then again, the cost of production would have been higher.
