Health Wealth slogan

A slogan that will likely be true for all time has been used as a cancellation from August 16 to 25, 1954.

As there is a double cross illustrated before the lines "The People's Health is the Nation's Wealth" and the dates Aug. 19 to Sept. 30, 1954, this should be related to the Anti-Tuberculosis Drive for Funds conducted on the same dates and for which a slogan cancel was also used in Manila.

World Post Day 2018

PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost celebrates World Post Day, urges student to write letters

Today, October 9, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will celebrate World Post Day by encouraging the students to write letters to their beloved teachers.

Schools nationwide will take part in the nationwide “Salamat Po (Thank you) Teacher” raffle promo and competition.  The goal is to “effectively promote the value of gratitude to teachers who have done most, apart from their parents in shaping their future to become better persons in society.

World Post Day was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo as a means to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) creation in 1874.

The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the postal service’s role in  everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. PHLPost is an active member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations who has a membership of about 192 postal administrations in countries worldwide.

The postal service is inviting elementary, junior and senior high school students to write and mail letters of gratitude.

Those who are interested to join will just have to write a “Thank You” letter to their teachers. These letters must be sealed in an envelope where the complete details of the sender and addressee are clearly written and visible.

The “thank you” letters should be mailed via the Post Office through the Ordinary Mail Service, using the theme: “4A’s of Gratitude: Appreciation, Admiration, Approval, and Attention.” Awards and cash prizes await the raffle and competition winners.

Aside from the raffle draw, students will have the chance to participate in the regional and national letter writing competition. The winner in the national competition will also represent the Philippines in the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Letter Writing Contest in Berne, Switzerland to compete from among the 192 countries who are also members of the UPU.

The Christianization Quatercentennial Philippine International Philatelic Exhibition was held at Manila from December 6 to 12, 1965.

As noted on the lower left, the Asociacion Filatelica de Filipinas was a philatelic agent for United Nations postal issues.

The AFF also printed a souvenir sheet for Chrisquapipex.
