Liwayway

Did you know that Liwayway published a Republic stamp album?
Volume One came out in 1962 and even had a page devoted to "pointers for beginners in stamp collecting".
Not only stamps and souvenir sheets were illustrated (in black and white) but also postal stationery (stamped envelope, postal card, and aerogram).

FSCC auction December 2017

Some 50 bidders participated in the auction sale of the Filipinas Stamp Collectors' Club held today at the Philpost lobby.

The auction committee ran out of bid cards, but fortunately all were accommodated. Some new faces were in the crowd.

There were 508 lots listed, philatelic and nonphilatelic. One lot in particular, which could fall on either philately or numismatics, was hotly contested between a philatelist and a numismatist. When the smoke finally cleared, it sold for 16 times its starting bid!

Raffle prizes were given out to members, and all partook of the party food. Thus ended the year for this club!
