This Rizal postal card was sent in 1926.

The printed message on the back is in Spanish, a notice from the secretary of Casino Español in Manila. It says that the Dia de Santiago will be celebrated on July 25 at 5:30 in the afternoon after a merienda and baile in the salones of the building.

According to Wikipedia, the Casino Español de Manila "was a club established in 1893 by Spaniards living in the Philippines as their exclusive venue for recreational and social activities. It later opened its doors to Filipino members to foster Spanish-Filipino ties in the country."

Dia de Santiago is the annual Feast of Saint James, one of the first disciples of Jesus, who is believed to be buried in the Santiago de Compostela, a cathedral in Spain.

Here's the CDS part of the Dagupan & Manila South duplex cancel on a USPI Rizal definitive.

This cancel was used on the railway post office (RPO). The killer on the right side of the circular date stamp (CDS) is a barred oval.

There also was a Dagupan & Manila North cancel.

missing hyphen

This stamp was described in an auction as a "no hyphen" error.

Under magnification, however, you could barely see the faint hyphen after COMMON — that is, if my eyes still don't deceive me!

These were postage dues of the United States overprinted PHILIPPINES in black reading diagonally upwards.

SS President Hoover was an ocean liner from 1930 to 1937. It serviced the US-Far East route.

Yes, there is no period after "B" on each of the three stamps above.

Can't say though if these are genuine or not, as it's likely forgeries exist.

In 1935, stamps of the pictorial set were also overprinted O.B. in black.
