LAKE DANUM (Photographer – Kent Ramirez Duque) is located in Sitio Patay, approximately 4 kilometers from the Sagada municipal hall. It is a small lake surrounded by pine trees and their scents proliferate the areas. With its grassy and tree- shaded background, it is a perfect place for picnic and camping. It is also a jump- off point to Mt. Ampacao. Lake Danum is the kankana-ey (Sagada’s local dialect) term for water. The lake is small and it offers the best view of a Sagada sunset.
LAKE BALINSASAYAO (Photographer – Premier Elipe) is one of the three (3) crater lakes rising 1000 feet above sea level located within the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park, a protected area covering the municipalities of Valencia, Sibulan, and San Jose in Negros Oriental. The lake is situated northwest of a narrow mountain ridge formed by four mountains. The protected natural park is home in an expansive, ecosystem and biodiversity. The lake is one of the major tourist attraction in Negros Oriental. It has a rich fish fauna and the surrounding dipterocarp forests are rich in bird life.
MT. PINATUBO CRATER LAKE (Mark Albert Angelo Cruz) is the summit crater lake of Mt. Pinatubo and is formed after its climactic eruption on June 15, 1991. It is located in Botolan, Zambales, near the boundaries of Pampanga and Tarlac Provinces and is the deepest lake in the country at 600 miles (2000 ft.). During the 1991 eruption, the volcano’s original summit was destroyed and its place is a 2.5 kilometer diameter caldera was created from its collapse. By September 1991, shallow lake was formed(but the high precipitation rate of the area led to rapid transition from a small and hot acid lake to a large lake with near –ambient temperature and ph.
GABAWAN LAKE (Photographer - Christan Pago) – the Philippines has 37 volcanoes, none more beautiful – and potentially dangerous than Mt. Mayon, rising almost 2,500 meters above the waters of the gulf of Albay,southeast of Manila. The fierce beauty has erupted 49 times in 400 years, making it one of the world’s most active, and yet it has kept its iconic, perfect cone shape. The best place to view this is via Gabawan Lake in Daraga.
LAKE APO (Photographer - Premier Elipe)is a crater lake in Barangay Guinoyoran in the city of Valencia in Bukidnon province. It has been awarded the cleanest inland body of water in Northern Mindanao Region in the late 1990’s. The green body of water has an estimated area of 24 hectares and maximum depths’ reaching up to 25 meters. Lake Apo is being formed in an old volcanic cone that was later filled with water, as evidenced by the nearby volcanic peaks.
LAKE SEBU (Photographer - Len Jingco) is a natural lake located within the Alah Valley Region, South Cotabato. It is one of the country’s most important watersheds. Lake Sebu is one of the many bodies of water supplying irrigation to the provinces of Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato. The placid lake of Lake Sebu is surrounded by rolling hills and mountains covered with thick rain forest. The lake has an area of 354 hectares and elevation of 1000 meters. The Lakes shores and surrounding rainforests are home to the indigenous T’bolis,Ubos and Manobos’. The Department of Tourism and the local government unit is promoting Lake Sebu as one of the prime eco. Tourism destinations in the country.

KABALIN-AN LAKE (Photographer – Simeon Recio) is located in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. It is a scenic little lake with its surrounding green mountains reflecting on its calm waters. At the center of the lake are sprouting trees that lend mistery to the serene environment. Kabalin-an Lake is an emergency destination in Negros Oriental. It is beautiful and diverse place that nature lovers would never shied off.
LAKE LEONARD (Photographer - Kent Ramirez Duque) is a small freshwater crater lake in Mount Leonard, located in Maco, Compostela Valley. Due to volcanic activities centuries ago, lava domes in the surrounding areas were created. Hot springs are found in the Amacan-Gopod thermal area
south of the lake and the Manat thermal area is located north of the lake.
