Scott's Standard Catalogue of Local Stamps of the United States, China and Philippine Islands was published in 1915 by the Scott Stamp & Coin Co.
With illustrations, it lists stamps "Issued by the Republic under Aguinaldo" for Luzon and Bohol, in the Philippine section.
A very good reference for revenue philately of the American period and Japanese occupation is the illustrated and priced Fiscal Stamps of the Philippines: A Catalogue 1898 to 1946 The Warren Update by Douglas K. Lehmann and Donn Lueck.
This was published by the International Philippine Philatelic Society as the June 1993 edition of IPPS NEWSletter.
Warren refers to Arnold H. Warren, well-known for his research on Philippine revenue issues.
In black and white, the stamps are listed chronologically by classification of usages, such as documentary, cattle registration, customs, and a whole lot more.

Surprising is the number of stamps listed by Don Peterson in Unlisted Scott Catalogue Surcharged Stamps of the 1881-1888 Spanish Philippine Period.
This was published in 1997 by the International Philippine Philatelic Society.
My copy is signed "17 of 200" by the author.
The color plates are indeed helpful, as the author says in the Introduction.
The list of known forgeries is helpful, too.
This January-December 1980 edition of the Philippine Philatelic News made me aware of errors, freaks and oddities for the first time.
Shortly after perusing it in the early 1980's I lost no time at all searching for EFOs in my small collection of Philippine Republic stamps.
Hooray! I found one.
It was a major color shift on one of the three values in the "Marcos Shouting" issue.
And, now armed with the knowledge of what to look for in an error, I did find one in the P2 value of the 1982 Bataan Day specimen stamp -- the handstamp SPECIMEN was omitted (only the control number and deleting bars of the denomination were present).
I still have the color shift. The error I sold to a Philippine specialist.
The former is unlisted by Dr. Ngo Tiong Tak, Linda Stanfield and Mario Que, authors of the article, who state that "The listing we have come up with are what the authors have actually seen for they are either from their own personal collections or in the collections of other collectors."
As my collection grew in the 1990's, I did find more color shifts and shifted overprints, all unlisted in this work, of the same time frame (1946-1979) studied by the three catalogers. But, so far, no more errors.
NAPP's Numbers Volume One is "A Study of the Plate Number Combinations created by the Overprinting of U.S. Postage Stamps for use in the United States Possessions and Administrative Areas 1899-1946."
This work by Joseph M. Napp lists "plate number and position combinations" for Canal Zone, Cuba, Guam, Hawaii, Philippines, Puerto Rico and Shanghai.
The third edition is copyrighted 2000.
My copy is numbered 178 and is signed by the author.
Introductory terms and definitions are given in this illustrated catalog for the specialist. Cover illustrations are in color and for the inside pages in black and white.

An early stamp catalog devoted solely to the Philippines is the one published in 1904 titled The Postage Stamps of the Philippines.
As noted on the title page it includes "a List of Telegraph and Revenue Stamps Issued Under Spanish Dominion."
This illustrated work by J. Murray Bartels, F. Apthorp Foster and Captain F. L. Palmer covers the issues of the Spanish era, revolutionary period and early American administration.
There are no prices given but it's still referenced by Philippine collectors today who are into philatelic research.

The scope includes stamps and postal stationery listed in chronological order.
It is illustrated in full color and gives the names of the printers, perforation gauge, watermarks and quantities printed, among other details. All denominations of a set are illustrated even if these are of a common design type.
This is a priced catalog in US dollars.

An official publication of The United Postal Stationery Society is The Postal Stationery of the Philippines United States Administration 1898-1946 (note the doubling of "OF" in the cover title).
Copyright year is 1983.
A note states that "Much of the update information in this catalog was compiled by Eugene A. Garrett during the years 1977-78." Gene is, of course, well known in Philippine philately.
It has information on knives, envelope and card stock, weathering, shades of ink, quantities, and corner cards, among others.
The contents include envelopes, wrappers, postal cards and reply cards.
Comes with a supplement for prices.

A slim volume, Flight Covers of the Philippines 1947-1988 is authored by Linda Stanfield.

This detailed list of stamp issues is arranged according to periods in the history of Philippine philately. Quantities for each issue are given, if known, as well as the relative scarcity.
The illustrations, in black and white, are found in plates tucked in between.

For a time back then we used the 1982 Philippine Postage Stamp Catalogue published by the Philippine Philatelic Auction Club.
This simplified, illustrated catalog listed prices for first day covers, mint and used (each was defined in detail) in Philippine currency. Semipostals and officials had separate listings at the back of the book.
"The chief motive in issuing this catalog is to set a standard pricing for Philippine Republic stamps and first day covers that is realistic and fair," read the foreword. "This is a product of several months of research and studies conducted by the PPAC Catalog Committee. Auction sales, dealers transactions, and other factors relative to the issuance of the stamps, etc...,were used to obtain the average prices quoted."
Compilers were Antonio So and Linda Stanfield.
There were 1,000 copies printed, in monochrome (bluish ink). My copy is numbered 104.
Bought it in Davao City back in the early 1980s (by mail from PPAC in Manila).
The first edition of this catalog, if I recall correctly, was dated 1981.
