For the anniversary of the Republic, a three-stamp set was issued on July 4, 1947 showing President Manuel A. Roxas taking the oath of office. Administering the oath was Chief Justice Manuel Moran; also shown are Vice President Elpidio Quirino, First Lady Trinidad de Leon Roxas and U.S. Ambassador Paul McNutt; all of whom are not identified on the stamps. The ceremony was held at Luneta.
