The Bandera 25th Anniversary Stamps and Official First Day Covers will be available starting September 10, 2015 at the Post Shop, Philately and Museum Division, Manila Central Post Office, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and at all Regional Offices of the Philippine Postal Corporation.

PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost launches Bandera 25th Anniversary commemorative stamp

Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz, Inquirer Publications Inc. Board Chairman Marixi Prieto and President Sandy Prieto-Romualdez yesterday, September 10, unveiled the BANDERA 25th Commemorative Stamp to celebrate the newspaper’s silver anniversary at Marriott Hotel, Newport Blvd. in Pasay City.
Bandera, the nationwide daily Taglish tabloid newspaper in the country, with considerable online and social media presence has featured in the silver anniversary commemorative stamps the winning entry in the joint PHLPost and Bandera postage stamps design contest. The colorful stamp interprets the “theme: Bandera, hindi lang basta tabloid”.
“We congratulate Bandera, one of the several newspapers under the successful Inquirer Group of publications on its 25thAnniversary, by releasing these special commemorative stamps to record an important milestone in the industry, while continuing with your mission as the No. 1 source of information to millions of Filipino’s here and abroad”, Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz said.
Bandera is published by the Inquirer Publications, Inc., first named as Metro Times, which was first published on September 10, 1990.

English is the primary language for the articles until they shifted to Tagalog in 2000s. In November 2001, the Prieto family, owner of PDI, acquired Bandera.
