Pictured here is a cacheted slogan cover for Scoutpex '79, which I found in a pack of 10 Philippine covers sold to me in today's auction sale of the Filipinas Stamp Collectors' Club held at Manila.
Scoutpex '79 was the 1st Scout Philatelic Exhibition held at Quezon City from July 4 to 14, 1979, in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the first national jamboree held at Quezon City in 1954.
The slogan cancel was used in some Metro Manila post offices in June 1979; the one shown here is for the San Juan Post Office.
More than 30 floor bidders, including Philippine Philatelic Journal editor Hans Becker from Cebu and some new faces among the regulars, and three absentee bidders participated in the sale offering a little over 500 lots of philatelic and nonphilatelic collectibles.
After about a week of heavy rains, today was just cloudy with not a single raindrop, for a lovely auction afternoon.
