The Philippine Postal Corporation will issue a special “COMMEMORATIVE COVER” on October 12, 2018 in celebration of the “25thAnniversary Philippine Postal Corporation Provident Fund Office”. It will have slogan-cancelled in Manila.
The Provident Fund was created under the Philippine Postal Corporation to maximize the payment of benefits of PHLPost employees and officials. It was established on October 14, 1993 per PHLPost Board Resolution No. 93-116.
The Provident Fund is a source of quick loan to cover unexpected financial needs of postal employees; thereby discouraging them from going to private financiers and preserving their dignity as PHLPost employees.
On November 11, 2003, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo finally granted Post Facto approval of the creation of the Philippine Postal Corporation-Provident Fund Office. Thereat, the approval of the provident fund was subjected to the following conditions:
1. The employer’s counterpart to the Fund should not exceed 5% of the employee’s basic salary.
2. The employees shall be given the discretion to decide the amount of their contribution to the fund; and
3. The herein approval of the President shall be strictly effected in accordance with applicable budgeting, accounting, and auditing rules and regulations.

In 2008, 50% of the outstanding corporate share was returned to PHLPost in compliance with the order of the Commission on Audit. The other 50% remained in the books of the Provident Fund Office and lodged as additional capital of the fund amounting to Php69,715,106.45.
Today the PPC-Provident Fund Office continues to strive and help Postal employees.
The commemorative cover, designed by, Victorino Z. Serevo, will be sold at thirty pesos (PHP 30) per piece. Commemorative covers will be available for sale starting onOctober 12, 2018 at the Philatelic counter, Manila Central Post Office, Liwasang Bonifacio, 1000, Manila.

COMMEMORATIVE COVER History Con 2018

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will issue a special“COMMEMORATIVE COVER” on August 10, 2018to mark its participation in History Con 2018 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. It will have slogan-cancelled in Manila and Pasay City. This is PHLPost initial participation in History Con 2018, which is in its third year installment in Manila.
History Con is a gathering of history buffs, hobbyists and entertainment enthusiasts coming altogether to witness a festival that brings aspirations and interests to Filipinos. The festival includes world record attempts, meet and greet events, lectures, performances and tournaments. The three day event is participated by over 300 exhibitors.
The commemorative cover, designed by Rodine C. Teodoro, will be sold at thirty pesos (PHP 30) per piece. The design of the slogan canceller features the Pilipinas Philately and the History Con 2018 Logo.
Commemorative covers will be available for sale starting on August 10, 2018 at the PHLPost Counter, World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) releases the 35th Anniversary Commemorative Cover of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) which was established in 1982.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), is the lead government agency tasked to protect and promote the welfare and well-being of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents.
The commemorative cover features the anniversary logo of OWWA and the slogan that says “We Serve…We Care #35 Years of Helping OFWs & Their Families”. Also on the cover is the main building of OWWA in Pasay City.
A special postmark or canceller that designates the place and date of the specific event in the commemorative cover highlights the historical significance which is valuable for collectors.

In line with the 90th Anniversary of the Manila Yacht Club (MYC) which was established in 1927, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) issued the limited edition Commemorative Cover featuring the MYC’s members’ only Club and the country’s premier yacht club.
The Club is also one of the oldest yacht clubs in Asia.
The said commemorative cover comes with a design or theme printed in the envelope to celebrate the 90th year anniversary and the postmark indicating the cancellation of the first day of issue. These are important to collectors because of its historical significance.
Today, the Manila Yacht Club (MYC) plans to promote yachting and sailing as sporting event.
