Got an album page of 1982 mint sets in today's auction sale of the APO Philatelic Society held at Manila.
One of the three sets on the page is pictured here honoring St. Teresa of Avila, which piqued my interest because the P1.20 value has the red color shifted upward, resulting in red eyebrows and red overlay on top of the black veil.
This color shift wasn't described in the auction list and no one among the 20 or so bidders seemed to have noticed it. That's why I always bring my magnifying glass to the auctions!
Some 420 philatelic and nonphilatelic lots were offered and most were sold with many for high prices. A new bidder brought home a substantial number of items--the consignors must have been smiling from ear to ear!
