PRESS RELEASE: International Letter Writing qualifiers named

PHLPost is pleased to announce the 27 chosen students from nine Postal Areas during the Area Level Letter Writing Contest held during the National Letter Writing Day on October 9. They will be once again be competing, this time on a National Level, wherein the winner will represent the Philippines to the UPU International Letter Writing for Young People Contest in April 2018.
Those who will be moving on to the National Level are Klyde Charles Lee P. Paynor of Honorato C. Perez Sr. Memorial Science High School, Fritzie D. Morales of Camp Tinio National High School and Gahlely A. Mari of Eastern Cabu National High School from North East Luzon Area; Jo Elizabeth F. Mina, Alodia Iyanla E. Viray and Rona Pamela R. Quiambao of Tarlac State University from North West Luzon Area; Marianne Rovic M. Macatangay and Eugene Carlson Garcia of Ramon Magsaysay High School and Shannen S. Masarque of Manuel Roxas High School from Mega Manila Area; Leana Renee I. Infante and Fatima Alexia E. Nieva of Canossa College at Hana Andrea Nixie F. Quinton of Liceo de San Pablo from Southern Luzon Area; Kimberly Nicole Etcuban, Cylla Noreen Gaytos and Anne Lorenz Valdez of Colegio del Immaculada Concepcion from Central and Eastern Visayas Area; Marla Vargas, Charlise Leada and Andrei Jan Tono of Iloilo Science and Technology University from Western Visayas Area; Denise Angela R. Diamante, Voltaire T. Sto. Domingo and Mayumi Sitoy of Ateneo de Davao University from Eastern Mindanao Area; Zaidi P. Saripada and Julianna Jo C. Gulle of Liceo de Cagayan University and Charmine V. Salvador of Bulua National High School from Central Mindanao Area; and, Kacey Marie V. Espartero of Claret School of Zamboanga City, Jasmine Melesma I. Sinlao of Pilar College of Zamboanga City Inc. and Rafaiza S. Arabain of Talong-Talon National High School from Western Mindanao Area.
Aside from the recognition, the three National Level winners shall receive cash prizes of P5,000 for the third prize, P7,000 for the second prize and P10,000 for the first prize.
For the Area Level, the students were asked to write a letter under the theme “Imagine you are an advisor to the new United Nations Secretary-General; which world issue would you help him tackle first and how would you advise him to solve it?”
This time, for the National Level, the students will write their letter under the theme given by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), “Imagine you are a letter travelling through time. What message do you wish to convey to your readers?” Deadline of submission of entries at PHLPost Area Administrative Offices in on or before January 10, 2018.
