gold bullion


A set of two high values (P10 and P20), same design but different in color, were issued on August 27, 1937.

Harradine's handbook notes the following: "It had been discovered that, mainly through the need to prepay adequate postage (and insurance!) on small bars of gold and silver bullion, it was necessary to issue stamps of higher denominations in order to save plastering such parcels with stamps of lower values...."
