PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost features Philippine sunsets to celebrate National Heritage Month

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) issued postage stamps featuring colorful images of some of the most remarkable sunsets located in scenic Philippines in celebration of National Heritage Month.
PHLPost is printing 102, 400 copies of the four (4) different design of the regular stamp sold at P12 each. The beautiful images found in the stamps were contributed by FUNtastic Philippines, a group of professional photographers which was coordinated by Judith L. Neric of Filipino Heritage Festival Inc.
Photographed by Fresco Linga, the Sunset at Bangui, Ilocos Norte stamps was taken along the 3-km Bangui Bay and the famous fifteen-storey high windmills waving at the sun setting across the horizon. Experience some of the magnificent hundred islands in Alaminos, Pangasinan through the stamps and seemingly awed in adoration of the magnificent sun which was taken by Joel Yonzon.
The Basco lighthouse in Batanes is perched on Naidi Hills overlooking the sea against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset in one the country’s Paradise Island photoshoot by Godwin Hernaez.
A walk along the park below the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, (Mactan side) can one find the amazing view of the sunset with the picturesque Mactan Channel intersecting the bridge at the backdrop. The image was photograph by Reginald de Guia.
Aside from the regular stamps, PHLPost has also released limited copies of the “block of four” souvenir sheets presenting five (5) of the beautiful sunsets in breathtaking view. The postage stamps were included in the limited edition of 5,000 copies sold at P100 each. PHLPost has introduced a special embellishment for the Souvenir Sheet called “Hot Foil Stamping” to enhance the look and feel of the stamps.

Photo taken by Lino Jubilan, Jr., the sunset at Camiguin stamps projects a perfect scenery in the sky with the rock formations and the huge cross at the background. The awesome view of the Sunset in Capones Islands, San Antonio Zambales was photo shoot and featured through stamps in dramatic fashion by Jun Bucao.
Photographed by Gimer Delos Santos Romero, the stamps feature Zamboanga City which offers one of the best places in the Philippines to enjoy sunset viewing, especially with vintas buoying on playful waves along the Boulevard. The magical view of Mt. Makiling and the beautiful Sampaloc Lake in Laguna was captured by Photographer Bless Brul-Constantino and featured in stamps.
The stamps, official first day and souvenir sheet are now available at the Post Shop, Central Post Office, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and area post offices nationwide. For inquiries, please call 527-01-08 or 527-01-32.
