PRESS RELEASE: PHLPost releases Harana Stamps in time for Valentines Day celebration


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released today, February 14, the “Harana Stamp”, the digital art rendition of the traditional Filipino way of courtship, modernized by the Singing Karteros (mailman).
The “Singing Mailman” delivers greeting cards, flowers even chocolates and other romantic items to love ones on Valentine’s Day while singing their favorite songs.
The “Harana Stamp” features a couple in Philippine national costumes with the boy serenading the girl, and holding her heart in acceptance.
Designed by in-house layout artist Eunice Beatrix Dabu, the “Harana Stamp”, PHLPost has printed 50,000 copies of the stamps to be sold at P12 each and another 400 pieces of limited edition official first day cover envelope for collectors.
PHLPost has been issuing Valentine’s Stamp yearly to celebrate the heart's day. It has become a Filipino tradition popularized by the PHLPost own “Singing Karteros”.
Valentine’s Day celebration is not only for lovers, but also for married couples, old and young, and for singles searching for partners.
The stamps and official first day cover are now available at the Post Shop, Central Post Office, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and area post offices nationwide. For inquiries, please call 527-01-08 or 527-01-32.
